Where to Begin

To someone who's just dipping their toes into the world of sustainable living, any change may seem daunting. Many news outlets and guides make it seem like reducing your carbon footprint should be a complete reversal of your lifestyle. Fortunately, this is not the case - there are plenty of easy things you can do to reduce your impact on the environment without changing too much. Try to cut out as many single use plastics in your day-to-day as possible. Single use plastics account for approximately 50% of all plastic production. Eating locally reduces the amount of fossil fuel consumption needed to put produce in supermarkets. Reducing energy use around the house, which can be as easy as turning off appliances when not in use, is also a big step to a smaller carbon footprint.
